Nutritional Facts: Serving Size Explained

Have you ever bought a large bag of chips, sat down to watch television and ate the entire contents by yourself? Yep. It use to happen to me. Let’s face it, as a society, we’re programmed to consume large portions. While the idea of adhering to a food’s recommended serving size is hard to maintain, the truth is, eating in excess will result in extra empty calories and fat consumption. These two together is one of greatest contributor to poor health and excess fat.

The recommended serving size for a bag of chips is 1 oz or 19 chips and 1/2 cup for a serving of rice or whole grains.  Do you pay attention to this fact?  Adapt this practice and I guarantee that it will contribute to a slimmer waist  line.
