Yes it does—-used in moderation of course. Although, it’s not a clear science on exactly how this occurs, research shows a direct correlation between caffeine and hair growth. Studies believe caffeine to be a hair growth stimulator that helps to improve skin function and is easily absorbable through the scalp.
I use caffeinated coffee in my henna paste application to darken my hair color, stimulate my scalp to promote healthy hair growth, reduce hair loss/shedding and to degrease my scalp. Additionally, part of the benefits of caffeine for hair loss may come from its ability to increase circulation and blood flow. I’m not a coffee drinker—never been. I should be with all the years spent awake during long military operations, lol.
From a wellness prospective, coffee/caffeine may counter several risk factors for heart attack, stroke, type II diabetes parkinson’s and alzheimer’s Diseases.
HOWEVER, caffeine can raise blood pressure, as well as blood levels of the fight-or-flight chemical epinephrine (also called adrenaline). Again, exercise caution when using caffeine.
Hope this helps.
